Why not just use Anki?

You could. If you want to manually type every card. ChatKeep generates them from your actual ChatGPT conversations—no copy-paste, no formatting, no effort.

Why not rely on ChatGPT's memory?

ChatGPT's memory stores preferences ("I like concise answers") not content. It won't quiz you. It won't schedule reviews. It just... remembers that you like bullet points.

Can't I just re-read my chat history?

Re-reading feels productive but doesn't work. Active recall (testing yourself) beats passive review by 50%+. That's the whole point of flashcards.

What if I stop using it?

Your cards stay. No dark patterns. Export anytime. We'd rather you come back than trap you.

Terms of Service

Effective Date: January 17, 2026

ChatKeep is operated by Michał Brotoń ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ChatKeep mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are between 13 and 16 years old and located in the EEA, you may need parental or guardian consent.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to use the App. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

3. Your Content

You own the flashcards, decks, and related materials you create or import ("User Content"). You grant us and our service providers a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, back up, process, and display your User Content solely to operate and provide the App.

You are responsible for your User Content and agree not to upload content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, or violates privacy. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and auto-renew unless canceled. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. We receive only your subscription status to unlock premium features.

5. App Store Terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA") applies to your use of the App. Apple is not responsible for the App, support, or any claims related to the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services (for example, Apple, Google, Firebase, and Cloudflare for MCP integration). Your use of those services is subject to their terms and privacy policies. If you import content from third-party AI services or MCP clients, you are responsible for that content.

7. Service Availability and Changes

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that the App will be error-free.

8. Termination and Deletion

You may delete your account in the App. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or legal requirements. Account deletion removes data from active systems, but some data may remain in backups for a limited period or as required by law.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the App or your User Content.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are an EU consumer, you may also have rights to bring claims in your country of residence.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will update the Effective Date and, for material changes, notify you in the App or by email. Continued use means acceptance.
